Backend Engineer (Golang + Node.js)

About the Role -

We're looking for a backend engineer to work across two production services:

- A Node.js/TypeScript API(Express) handling core application logic, real-time data, notifications, and third-party integrations.
- A Go microservice that runs a high-throughput background processing engine with paced job execution and lifecycle management.

The services share a database and cache layer and communicate over authenticated HTTP, webhooks, and message streams. You'll write code in both Go and Node, so we want someone comfortable moving between the two.

What You'll Do:-

- Build and maintain REST APIs, background workers, and scheduled jobs across both services.
- Work on real-time features using WebSockets, Redis pub/sub, and event streams.
- Design data flows across MongoDB and Redis (including multi-tier caching).
- Integrate third-party APIs and handle service-to-service communication (JWT,



webhooks, queues).
- Add metrics, logging, and alerts, and help keep latency and error rates healthy.

Must-Have:-

- 6+ months building backend services (strong internship/personal projects count).
- Working knowledge of both Go and Node.js/TypeScript— or strong in one and eager to learn the other.
- Solid grasp of REST APIs, JSON, and JWT auth.
- Comfortable with MongoDB and Redis.
- Understands concurrency basics — Go goroutines/channels and Node's async/event loop.
- Git, debugging from logs, and reading large unfamiliar codebases.

Nice-to-Have:-

- Gin (Go), Express, and WebSocket libraries.
- Distributed-systems patterns: message queues, event streams, webhooks, caching strategies, circuit breakers.
- Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, structured logging).
- Docker, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
- Analytics or time-series databases.
- Automated testing.
