JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Industrial Relations (Dy. Mgr./Asst. Mgr./Executive)
An Industrial Relations (IR) professional bridges the gap between management and
the workforce. They negotiate contracts, ensure strict compliance with labour laws,
and handle dispute resolution. Their core mission is to minimize operational
disruptions while promoting a fair, harmonious, and legally sound work setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Collective Bargaining: Lead or advise on negotiations regarding wages,
healthcare, benefits, and work conditions with labour unions and employee
representatives.
• Dispute & Grievance Resolution: Mediate conflicts, investigate employee
grievances, and resolve disputes swiftly to prevent strikes or legal action.
• Compliance & Legal: Ensure all company policies, contracts, and practices
strictly adhere to local, state, and national labour legislation.
• Policy Development: Design and implement workplace policies covering fair
employment practices, disciplinary procedures,
and health/safety codes.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary communication link between
factory/plant management, union leaders, and government authorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Negotiation & Mediation: Ability to handle intense negotiations and de-
escalate workplace tensions.
• Legal Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regional employment
standards, labour unions, and workplace safety regulations.
• Conflict Resolution: Strong listening, analytical, and interpersonal skills to
mediate unbiased resolutions.
• Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources,
Industrial/Labor Relations, Law, or Business Administration.
• Experience: 310 years of progressively responsible experience in labour
relations, unionized environments, or HR management.
