Vice President Fundraising (Ethnus Foundation)

Role Overview
The Vice President – Fundraising will lead Ethnus Foundation's overall fundraising strategy and build a diversified, sustainable funding pipeline across corporate, CSR partners, institutional donors, foundations, and HNIs. This is a senior leadership role, working closely with the CEO/Executive Director and Board, responsible for driving revenue growth, building donor relationships, and leading a high-performing fundraising team.
1. Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and drive the Foundation's long-term fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Set annual fundraising targets, budgets, and KPIs; own overall accountability for revenue growth.
- Build and lead a multi-channel fundraising portfolio, including corporate/CSR partnerships, institutional donors, foundations, HNIs, and international funding agencies.
- Represent the Foundation at senior industry forums, donor meetings, and strategic partnership discussions.
2. Donor & Partnership Management
- Cultivate and manage relationships with existing and prospective major donors, corporate partners, and institutional funders.
- Lead high-value proposal development, donor pitches, and negotiations to close large partnerships and grants.
- Ensure robust donor stewardship, timely reporting, and compliance with donor requirements and grant agreements.
3. Team & Organizational Leadership
- Coordinate with the Recruitment and HR team to build the fundraising team, and mentor and lead Managers and program staff supporting fundraising.
- Set individual and team performance goals; build capability across the fundraising function.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Programs, Communications, Finance, and Board members to align fundraising priorities with organizational strategy.
4. Governance, Reporting & Compliance
- Present periodic fundraising performance updates, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board.
- Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to non-profit fundraising (FCRA, CSR guidelines, tax exemptions, etc.).
- Oversee accurate donor documentation, MOUs, and grant compliance in coordination with Finance and Legal.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Social Work, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10-15 years of overall professional experience, with a significant portion in fundraising, CSR partnerships, or business development within the non-profit/development sector.
- Demonstrated track record of securing large-value grants, CSR funding, or institutional partnerships.
- Prior experience leading and building a fundraising team is essential.
- Relevant industry experience within the social sector, CSR ecosystem, or philanthropic/donor landscape strongly preferred.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of the CSR, philanthropy, and institutional donor landscape in India.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the Foundation at a senior level.
