The General Manager - Hallmarking Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end operations of hallmarking centers, ensuring compliance with BIS Hallmarking regulations, operational efficiency, quality standards, security, staff development, and customer service excellence across all locations.

Role & responsibilities:-

- Lead and oversee daily operations of hallmarking centers to ensure smooth, effective, and compliant functioning.
- Ensure adherence to BIS Hallmarking regulations, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for hallmarking, testing, and certification activities.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve productivity, turnaround time, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of hallmarking, assaying, and testing processes.
- Coordinate internal audits and facilitate BIS inspections and external compliance reviews.
- Maintain complete documentation, records, and reports as required by regulatory authorities.
- Monitor compliance with quality management systems and laboratory standards.
- Ensure effective implementation of surveillance systems, access controls, and asset protection protocols.
- Investigate operational discrepancies, security incidents, and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions.




- Conduct regular visits to branch offices to assess operational efficiency, service quality, process compliance, and overall branch performance.
- Evaluate branch operations for compliance with company policies, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and operational standards, and recommend improvement actions where necessary.
- Ensure consistency and standardization of operational practices across all locations by monitoring implementation, addressing deviations, and driving continuous operational improvement.
- Act as the primary liaison between the organization and government authorities, regulatory bodies, and statutory agencies to facilitate smooth business operations and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate regulatory inspections, audits, license renewals, and statutory compliance activities while ensuring timely submission of required documents and reports.

Requirements:-

- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- 20-25 years of experience in operations management, laboratory operations, quality assurance, hallmarking, testing, certification services, or related industries.
- Proven experience in managing multi-location operations and leading large teams.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India (50-70% travel) to oversee branch operations and ensure compliance with organizational and BIS standards.
