Key Responsibilities
Traffic Engineering & Operations
- Assess and analyze urban traffic conditions, travel patterns, and network performance.
- Conduct traffic studies, corridor assessments, and junction/intersection evaluations.
- Develop recommendations to improve traffic operations, reduce congestion, and enhance mobility.
- Support the implementation of intelligent traffic management solutions for urban road networks.
Adaptive Traffic Control Systems (ATCS)
- Plan, design, review, and support deployment of Adaptive Traffic Control Systems (ATCS).
- Evaluate and optimize adaptive signal control algorithms to improve traffic performance.
- Monitor ATCS system effectiveness and recommend performance improvements.
- Coordinate with system integrators, traffic authorities, and other stakeholders during ATCS implementation and operations.
Traffic Signal Optimization
- Develop and review traffic signal timing plans and coordination strategies.
- Perform signal optimization studies for isolated intersections and arterial corridors.
- Analyze signal performance measures and recommend corrective actions for improved operational efficiency.
- Support implementation of adaptive and dynamic signal control strategies.
Traffic Analysis & Modelling
- Conduct turning movement analysis, intersection capacity analysis, and congestion studies.
- Analyze traffic flow characteristics, delays, queue lengths, and level of service (LOS).
- Interpret data collected through traffic surveys, ATCS systems, sensors, and intelligent transportation systems.
- Develop traffic improvement plans based on analytical findings and operational requirements.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and authorities.
- Collaborate with transportation agencies, urban local bodies, smart city teams, consultants,
and technology vendors.
- Provide technical inputs during project planning, implementation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Support project reviews, audits, and performance assessments.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of Urban Traffic Engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience with Adaptive Traffic Control Systems (ATCS).
- Expertise in Adaptive Traffic Control Algorithms and signal control methodologies.
- Experience in Traffic Signal Optimization and Corridor Management.
- Robust knowledge of:
- Turning Movement Analysis
- Congestion Analysis
- Intersection Design & Operations
- Traffic Flow Theory
- Capacity Analysis
- Traffic Impact Assessment
- Understanding of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technologies.
- Experience in traffic simulation and modelling tools.

Mandatory Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Traffic Engineering and Urban Transportation Projects.
- Experience in Adaptive Traffic Control Systems (ATCS) implementation and operations.
- Proven expertise in:
- Adaptive Traffic Control Algorithms
- Signal Optimization
- Turning Movement Analysis
- Congestion Analysis
- Experience in at least two (2) ATCS deployment projects is mandatory.
- Experience working on Smart City, Urban Mobility, ITS, Traffic Management, or Transportation Infrastructure projects is preferred.
