Position Brief
We are looking for an Accounts Associate to join our office in Dehradun. In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Department and collaborate extensively with project teams. Your responsibilities will include maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. The role is integral to maintaining accurate financial information and providing meaningful insights that support informed decision-making across the organization. The final designation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and relevant experience, in accordance with the organizations benchmarking standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and record all accounting transactions in Tally ERP on a cost center-wise basis.
- Review and verify bills, vouchers, cash transactions, online payments, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Prepare expense payable statements and manage payment upload processes through banking platforms.
- Maintain and monitor project-wise expense records and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable on a monthly basis.
- Ensure timely processing and settlement of bank payments.
- Collaborate with the Accounts and Finance team in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Prepare and reconcile TDS payable statements (Salary and Non-Salary) within prescribed timelines and ensure timely payment of challans.
- Prepare and reconcile GST payable statements and ensure statutory compliance.
- Generate donation receipts for both Indian and FCRA contributions.
- Prepare and verify the Profit & Loss Account of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF).
- Conduct stock verification and reconciliation activities for the Material Recovery Facility (MRF).
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and other documentation as required from time to time.
- Provide support during payroll processing, internal audits, and statutory audits.
- Assist in monthly financial closing activities, including passing correction, adjustment, and journal entries.
- Maintain accurate financial records and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Demonstrate proficiency in accounting software and digital accounting systems for managing financial transactions.
- Ensure adherence to the organization's financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Skills and Attributes
- A degree/diploma in Finance/Accounts/Certificate in Commerce.
- Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proven experience in handling accounts, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
- Knowledge of accounting software such as Tally ERP and other financial management tools.
- Ability to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in financial records.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Proactive, creative, and with a problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Hardworking, confident, and diligent.
- Great communication skills and a strong quantitative background.
