Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and diligent EHS & ZLD Operations skilled to oversee the operations, maintenance, and compliance of our Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), ETP, and STP plants. The ideal candidate will handle daily operations, ensure rigorous documentation, manage safety permits, and maintain compliance standards in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setup.
Key Responsibilities:
1. ZLD, ETP, & STP Plant Operations
- Monitor and maintain ZLD plant performance; review and update operation logbooks strictly as per SOPs.
- Coordinate with the AMC team to run the plant smoothly without any process deviations.
- Manage inventory, track chemical, mechanical, and electrical consumables, and coordinate with vendors for timely supply.
- Monitor ETP and STP operations, planning and executing scheduled tank cleanings and maintenance shutdowns.
- Ensure excellent housekeeping in and around the ZLD premises.
- Provide regular on-the-job training and awareness to plant operators regarding ZLD operations.
2. Environmental Compliance & Data Management
- Track, prepare, and maintain daily records for hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation and disposal.
- Coordinate with disposal facilities to secure incineration certificates.
- Verify environmental monitoring reports and maintain an updated monthly track record of environmental data.
- Ensure daily updation of environmental logbooks and manage on-time logbook submission and issuance from QA.
- Maintain daily records of chemical consumption stocks for both the laboratory and the plant.
- Review and maintain all documentation related to preventive maintenance and equipment breakdowns.
3. Safety & EHS Functions
- Handle and issue work permits in the absence of the Safety In-Charge or during their deployment to other tasks.
- Actively respond to and investigate fire alarms and oxygen sensor triggers during shift hours.
- Target and upload Unsafe Act / Unsafe Condition observations (IPO) into the ATLAS system, followed by employee follow-ups.
- Coordinate with the EHS team to conduct fire drills, mock drills, and workplace safety training activities.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: BSc / MSc (Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field)
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of core experience in EHS / ZLD operations.
- Industry Preference: Must have experience in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of ZLD, ETP, STP processes, SOPs, QA documentation, and safety permit systems.
