Job Title: Manager Coal Washery Projects

Position Overview

Responsible for endtoend planning, execution and stabilization of coal washery projects, from design review and scheduling to commissioning and subsequent operations management. Acts as the technical lead interfacing with design consultants, EPC contractors and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end execution of Coal Washery projects from engineering review and planning through commissioning, stabilization, and operations handover.
- Develop and monitor project schedules using MS Project/Primavera, including resource planning, milestone tracking, critical path analysis, and recovery planning.
- Review engineering documents, process flow diagrams, layouts, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and statutory standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs, and internal stakeholders for design reviews, technical clarifications, and timely resolution of project issues.
- Monitor project progress, costs, quality, safety, and environmental compliance, and submit periodic reports to management.
- Lead site execution activities involving civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works.
- Review and certify contractor progress and bills, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and project timelines.
- Facilitate coordination with Procurement, Finance, HR, Safety, and Environment departments for smooth project execution.
- Plan and oversee commissioning, performance trials, SOP development, and operational readiness of the washery.




- Support operations teams in achieving targeted throughput, yield, ash reduction, and operational efficiency after commissioning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and minor modifications to enhance plant productivity and cost effectiveness.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Mineral / Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Postgraduate qualification in Coal Preparation / Mineral Processing / Industrial Management will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 12–15 years of experience in project execution of coal washeries / mineral processing / material handling plants.
- Minimum 5–7 years in a senior role handling project planning & control using MS Project.
- Handson experience in commissioning and operations of coal washery or similar beneficiation plants preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Robust ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process flow diagrams and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Project and/or Primavera for project planning, resource loading and critical path analysis.
- Sound knowledge of coal washing processes, equipment and material handling systems.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- High level of ownership, integrity and result orientation.

Reporting & Location

- Reports to: Head – Projects / VP (Washery & Beneficiation).

Location: Project site / Corporate office, with frequent travel to site as required.
