Operations Head

Location: Head Office (Sachin GIDC,Surat), Ankleshwar, Jhagadia, Panoli, Vapi, Sarigam, Nandesari
Department: Operations and Maintenance
Reports To: COO

Role Overview

Operations Head/ Incharge will be responsible for driving operational excellence across multiple Steamhouse plants. The role requires a hands-on leader who can independently manage plant performance, ensure operational discipline, improve efficiency, and lead regional teams while maintaining safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations

- Oversee the overall operations of the assigned plant/(s) to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted functioning.
- Monitor plant performance and implement improvements to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, cleanliness, and overall upkeep of all assigned plants.
- Ensure smooth coordination between Head Office and all assigned plants.
- Act as the primary coordination point between Head Office, Plant Heads, and plant teams.
- Ensure effective coordination with Plant Heads and plant personnel for smooth day-to-day operations.
- Monitor operational updates, review plant performance, and ensure timely execution of management directives across all assigned plants.
- Facilitate seamless communication and prompt resolution of operational issues across plant locations.

Operations & Maintenance

- Supervise boiler operations, utility systems, steam generation, water treatment, and condensate recovery.
- Ensure timely maintenance of pipelines, insulation, colour painting, and other plant infrastructure.
- Monitor fuel consumption, steam generation efficiency,



and overall utility performance.
- Drive preventive maintenance initiatives and minimize plant downtime.

Compliance & Safety

- Ensure compliance with IBR, environmental regulations, and company safety standards.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of the Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS).
- Ensure all environmental and statutory compliance requirements are met across assigned plants.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a strong safety culture.

Performance & Process Improvement

- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all assigned plants.
- Monitor key operational KPIs including boiler efficiency, steam quality, breakdown frequency, plant availability, and utility performance.
- Identify opportunities for automation, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Lead root cause analysis for operational issues and implement effective corrective actions.

Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, operators, and site teams.
- Maintain regular coordination with Plant Heads, COO to review plant performance, maintenance activities, manpower utilization, and compliance status.
- Provide operational guidance and support to management to ensure consistency in systems, processes, and performance across all assigned plants.




- Ensure manpower productivity, discipline, accountability, and effective workforce planning.
- Build a culture of ownership, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Customer Support- when needed

- Coordinate customer visits and ensure high operational standards at customer sites.
- Support customer onboarding and operational readiness for recent projects.
- Ensure timely resolution of operational issues affecting customer satisfaction.

Project Support- when needed

- Support installation, commissioning, and expansion of new Steamhouse projects.
- Review operational readiness before commissioning and ensure smooth project handover to operations.

Key Requirements

- Strong knowledge of boiler operations, steam systems, utilities, and plant maintenance.
- Experience in managing multiple plant locations.
- Strong leadership with a hands-on and execution-oriented approach.
- Ability to independently manage regional operations with minimum supervision.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of CEMS, environmental compliance, and industrial safety practices.
