Role & responsibilities

An onsite Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that supplier parts and processes meet defined quality standards by working directly at the suppliers facility.

The role focuses on preventing defects at source, monitoring process stability, and driving effective resolution of quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.

The SQE ensures compliance with quality systems, supports current product development activities, and acts as a key link between the supplier and internal teams to maintain consistent and reliable supply.

1. Supplier Quality Assurance: Ensure supplied parts meet specifications and quality standards.

2. Defect Handling: Contain issues at source and prevent defects reaching plant.

3. Problem Solving: Ensure the 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone and implement permanent corrective actions for the defects observed at supplier end, Aerostar, by Customer and ensure/ monitor Effectiveness of the action.

4. Crisis Handling: Manage the line issues, customer complaints, and escalations.

5. Supplier Development: Support SDEs to Improve supplier quality systems and process discipline.

6. NPD Support:



Support SDEs for First off samples, smooth PPAP and process validation.

7. Process Control & Audits: Monitor/ Audit the supplier processes (PFMEA, control plan, capability) to ensure compliance (IATF/ISO).

Coordination: Act as link between supplier and internal teams for SCAR, NCMR closure & provide real-time updates on supplier issues

- Knowledge of CNC machining processes, various manufacturing process, and precision engineering components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, specifications, and inspection standards
- Hands-on experience in handling the Metrology instruments Micrometer, Height Master, CMM, Vernier Caliper, Air Plug gauge etc.
- Hands-on experience in providing First Piece approval, Set-up approval, In process Inspection, Final Inspection etc.
- Familiarity with quality documentation systems In process Inspection reports, Control Plan, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP etc.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies
