Role Summary

You'll own our backlink acquisition program: finding high-quality, relevant link opportunities, running outreach, securing placements, and reporting on the authority and referral impact of your work. You'll partner closely with our content writer and the wider marketing team, and you'll work directly against a data-backed target list built in Ahrefs.

This is a builder role. You'll be handed a strategy foundation and the tooling, and you'll be expected to turn it into a repeatable, measurable pipeline of earned links.

Key Responsibilities

- Prospecting & qualification - Identify relevant, authoritative link targets using Ahrefs (Link Intersect, Content Gap, Best by Links, Referring Domains) and build/maintain a prioritized target list of domains and specific pages.
- Outreach & relationship building - Run personalized outreach for guest posts, resource-page links, unlinked-brand-mention reclamation, digital PR, and listicle inclusion. Manage the full pipeline from first contact to secured placement.
- Listicle & directory placements - Pursue inclusion in high-value SEO-driven listicles and industry roundups, and manage rankings/profiles on review platforms (Clutch, GoodFirms, DesignRush).
- Broken-link & redirect recovery - Support recovery of lost backlinks and reclaim link equity affected by site changes, coordinating with the technical SEO effort.
- Content collaboration - Work with the content writer to shape link-worthy assets (guides, whitepapers, gated research)



and match link opportunities to the right landing/money pages.
- Compliance - Ensure all link-building follows Google's link spam policies (correct use of rel="sponsored" / rel="nofollow", no paid dofollow schemes, no self-serving manipulation).
- Reporting - Track referring domains, dofollow vs. nofollow, referral traffic, and Domain Rating movement. Report progress against targets on a regular cadence and keep the shared tracker current.

Required Skills & Experience

- 2-5 years of hands-on off-page SEO / link building, ideally in a B2B, IT services, or SaaS context.
- Proven track record of securing quality backlinks (be ready to share examples and the metrics behind them).
- Proficiency with Ahrefs (or equivalent: SEMrush, Moz) - especially competitor gap and link-intersect analysis.
- Working knowledge of Google Search Console and how to read a links/backlink profile.
- Solid, credible outreach copywriting - able to personalize at scale without sounding templated.
- Solid understanding of link equity, anchor text strategy, dofollow vs. nofollow, and Google's link spam and quality guidelines.
- Organized and metrics-driven: comfortable managing a pipeline and reporting on outcomes.

Nice to Have

- Experience with digital PR / HARO-style earned media.
- Familiarity with HubSpot CMS and SurferSEO.
- Exposure to AI search visibility / brand-entity building (getting cited in AI Overviews and LLM answers).
- Experience in a technical or enterprise-software vertical (manufacturing, healthcare, SaaS).
