Job brief:

Perform high-quality MIG (GMAW) for aerospace structural assemblies and fixtures, ensuring strength, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with aerospace fabrication standards.

Responsibilities:

Welding Operations:

Execute MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, aerospace structures and jigs with precision.

Utilize synergic MIG machines for consistent heat input and minimal distortion.

Technical Parameters:

Set wire feed speed, voltage, and travel speed as per WPS; maintain gas flow (Ar/He mix 1020 L/min).

Use solid wire ER70S-6, ER4043, ER5356, or Inconel filler wires as specified.

Process Compliance:

Follow AWS D17.1 / D1.2 / D1.1 or customer-specific aerospace standards.

Adhere to preheat, interpass, and post-weld temperature controls for distortion-free joints.

Quality Assurance:

Perform dimensional checks, surface finishing, and assist in NDT (VT, PT, UT) verification.

Identify and correct weld defects such as undercut, porosity, and lack of fusion.





Workplace & Safety:

Maintain weld cleanliness and FOD-free workspace.

Ensure safe gas handling and proper grounding of equipment per aerospace safety SOPs.

Requirements:

- ITI Fitter / ITI Welder
- Minimum 35 years’ experience in precision or aerospace welding.
- Certified to AWS D17.1 / ASME Section IX (advantageous).
- Qualified Welder with 3G/6G as per AWS D1.1/ASME Sec 9/ASME 17.1 (advantageous)
- Ability to read complex fabrication drawings, GD&T;, and interpret WPS/PQRs.
- Strong focus on aesthetic weld quality, repeatability, and documentation discipline.
