Role Objective Deputy CFO

The Finance Controller will be responsible for driving financial governance, plant controllership, and robust accounting practices to support the company’s operational transition and ambitious growth plans.

The client is a well-established manufacturing organization with over six decades of industry presence, operating across multiple businesses, joint ventures, and manufacturing facilities. The organization has built a strong reputation in the industry and is now focusing on future technologies and next-generation manufacturing solutions to support long-term growth.

This role will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, efficient plant accounting, and regulatory compliance, while working closely with the Group CFO and the corporate finance team.

The incumbent will play a key role in supporting the CFO as the No. 2 in the finance function, establishing strong financial processes for upcoming recent plants, and building scalable finance systems to support the company’s 3x growth strategy over the next 3–4 years.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Financial Controllership

- Lead the overall financial controllership function for the manufacturing operations.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance in financial records and reporting.
- Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Implement best practices in cost control, financial discipline, and financial risk management.

Plant Accounting & Cost Management

- Manage plant accounting, product costing, and manufacturing cost analysis.
- Monitor standard costing, variance analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.




- Partner with plant leadership to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Track inventory valuation, WIP, cost absorption, and inventory controls.

Financial Reporting & Closing

- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.
- Coordinate with corporate finance for consolidated reporting and group-level requirements

Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Planning

- Drive annual budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting processes.
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance and highlight key deviations.
- Support leadership in business expansion planning and capital investment decisions.
- Identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost optimization.

Joint Venture & Stakeholder Management

- Manage financial reporting and governance related to Joint Venture operations.
- Coordinate with JV partners, corporate finance teams, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of JV financial reporting with corporate governance and compliance standards

Plant Transition & Expansion Support

- Support financial planning and execution for plant relocation from North India to South India.




- Ensure smooth transition of financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.
- Establish robust finance and accounting infrastructure at the new facility.
- Support the company’s strategic plan to scale the business by 3X over the next four years.

Compliance, Audit & Risk Management

- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, taxation, and corporate governance policies.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Strengthen internal controls, audit processes, and financial risk management frameworks.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Business Partnering & Leadership

- Act as a strategic finance partner to plant leadership and functional heads.
- Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with the Group CFO and corporate finance team on key business initiatives.
- Lead and mentor the plant finance and accounting team.

Candidate Requirement – Deputy CFO / Plant Controller (No. 2 to CFO)

- 14–18 years of experience in finance, controllership, and manufacturing finance
- Currently working as Deputy CFO / Plant Controller / Finance Head
- Directly reporting to CFO and acting as No. 2 in the finance team
- Strong experience in P&L; management, financial controllership, and plant finance
- Expertise in product costing, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and financial closing
- Strong knowledge of compliance, audits, and internal controls
- Experience in manufacturing / industrial organizations is mandatory
- Exposure to JV / group company structures preferred
- CA / CMA preferred
