Role: DBA Administrator

+ What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with 5-10 years of hands-on expertise in managing, optimizing, and securing both relational and non-relational databases. The ideal candidate should have be responsible for migration from Oracle to Postgres. strong experience in production environments, performance tuning, high availability setups, and cloud-based database solutions. Install, configure, and administer relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL. Manage and maintain NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or similar. Handle database provisioning, upgrades, patching, and migrations

- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Science Engineering.

- Experience:
- 510 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in database engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience managing production-grade database systems.

- Technical Expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Oracle Database Administration
- Microsoft SQL Server
- PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL
- Good knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
- Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and query optimization
- Strong understanding of database internals and architecture
- Monitoring tools (Oracle OEM, SQL Profiler, pgAdmin, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Backup/recovery tools and techniques
- Version control and deployment tools (Git, Liquibase, Flyway)
- Experience in cloud-native database solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP)




- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with big data ecosystems or data warehousing
- Experience with database migration (on-prem to cloud)
- Exposure to automation frameworks and scripting-heavy environments
- Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Preferred Qualification:
- DBA certifications (Oracle, Microsoft, PostgreSQL)

+ You would be responsible for

Database Management

- Install, configure, and administer relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL
- Manage and maintain NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB,



or similar
- Handle database provisioning, upgrades, patching, and migrations

Performance and Reliability

- Analyze and optimize slow queries, indexes, and database workloads
- Conduct performance tuning at database, query, and infrastructure levels
- Proactively monitor system performance and implement improvements

High Availability & Scalability

- Design and implement HA/DR solutions (Replication, Clustering, Always On, Data Guard, Streaming Replication)
- Ensure database systems are highly available, scalable, and resilient
- Participate in capacity planning and scaling strategies

Backup and Disaster Recovery

- Design, implement, and validate backup and recovery strategies
- Perform disaster recovery planning and testing
- Ensure RPO/RTO requirements are met

Security & Compliance

- Implement and manage database security (user roles, access control, encryption)
- Ensure compliance with data protection and governance standards
- Perform regular audits and vulnerability assessments

Cloud & Automation

- Work with cloud platforms (preferably AWS – RDS, Aurora, EC2-hosted databases)
- Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell)
- Support infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices

Collaboration & Support

- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams for schema design and deployment
- Support CI/CD pipelines involving database changes
- Provide L2/L3 support for production issues and incidents
