Jr. Trademark Associate

Manage trademark prosecution and brand protection matters by supporting filings, objections, hearing preparation, and contested proceedings, while assisting clients with clear, practical inputs on trademark strategy and portfolio tracking under senior guidance.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct detailed trademark searches and prepare explicit, actionable search reports under guidance, with a focus on learning strong search and reporting practices.
- Assist in filing, prosecution, and routine management of Indian and international trademark applications, including docketing and maintaining accurate records.
- Support work on trademark oppositions, rectifications, renewals, and basic enforcement steps by preparing drafts, evidence collation, and timelines, while progressively handling simple matters with supervision.
- Draft and review standard trademark and copyright related documents and agreements, and assist seniors in refining clauses and positions.
- Help advise clients on brand protection and trademark strategy by preparing first cut notes, watch summaries, and portfolio trackers for review.
- Assist in IP audits and due diligence by organising documents, preparing checklists, and summarising key observations for senior review.




- Coordinate with litigation teams on contentious trademark and copyright matters by supporting research, documentation, and briefing notes.
- Write and support research driven content such as legal articles, blogs, client updates, and internal notes on IP law developments, with an emphasis on clarity and accuracy.

Requirements

- LLM in Intellectual Property

Preferred Qualifications

- Exposure to trademark oppositions and hearing related work across multiple jurisdictions in India, with a strong willingness to learn procedure and drafting.
- Familiarity with international trademark filings, including the Madrid system, and basic experience in coordinating with foreign counsel for documents and deadlines.
- Comfort with portfolio tracking and management, including handling multiple applications, renewals, and high volume filings, preferably for startups and growing brands.
- Working knowledge of copyright basics and awareness of domain name dispute processes, with the ability to support research and documentation.
