Job Summary

About the Role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer.

Responsibilities

- Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
- Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients' needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
- Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience
- 4+ years of experience in programming using COBOL, JCL, IMSDB, DB2, VSAM Z/OS Connect
- 4+ years of experience in HOGAN, preferably in IDS
- Good working experience on mainframe utilities like Sort, REXX, File Manager/File-aid, Endeavor/Changeman, Easytrieve
- Valuable working experience on tools like IBM Debugger/Xpediter, Abend Aid, BMC Omegamon/Mainview etc.
- Experience with CICS Webservices,



zOS Connect APIs and Assembler will be an added advantage
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum method and exposure to latest tools like zUnit, Git, SonarQube, Checkmarx etc. is preferred
- Experience in driving Automation initiatives on Mainframes and Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps framework on Mainframes will be an added advantage
- Experience in using AI coding agents to solve real-world software engineering problems, including code generation, debugging, automation, test creation, code reviews, and rapid prototyping, resulting in improved productivity and faster delivery
- Excellent communication and analytical skills

Job Expectations
- Provide technical leadership to the team mentor junior team members to help them deliver the work assigned to them and train them to uplift the capability.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
- Contribute to sprint planning and prioritization of features
- Participate in design and development of applications under guidance from senior team members.
- Contribute to team activities by sharing knowledge and supporting peers as needed.
- Follow architectural guidelines and operational best practices provided by senior engineers and architects.
- Continuously learn and apply new tools, technologies, and processes relevant to the role.
