Key Responsibilities

Transportation Operations

- Manage transportation operations across First Mile, Mid Mile, and Last Mile networks.
- Ensure timely movement of inventory between vendors, fulfillment centers, hubs, and delivery locations.
- Monitor transportation capacity and vehicle utilization to improve operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with warehouses, fulfillment centers, and logistics partners for smooth daily operations.

Cost Optimization

- Drive optimization initiatives for:
- Reefer and Non-Reefer vehicle utilization
- Transportation cost per order
- Cost per kilogram
- Cost per shipment/unit
- Route optimization and load consolidation

- Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs without compromising service quality.
- Continuously evaluate transportation models for improved efficiency.

Logistics Partner Management

- Manage commercial relationships with transporters, courier partners, and logistics service providers.
- Negotiate freight rates, transportation contracts, and service-level agreements.
- Evaluate partner performance based on cost, service quality, and operational efficiency.
- Drive annual and periodic rate negotiations to achieve measurable cost savings.

Courier & Last Mile Delivery Management

- Monitor courier and Last Mile Delivery (LMD) performance.
- Optimize courier allocation to balance cost and service levels.
- Improve courier cost per order while maintaining delivery SLAs.
- Track partner performance and recommend corrective actions where required.

Warehouse Transportation Efficiency

- Improve loading and unloading turnaround time (TAT).
- Coordinate closely with warehouse teams to minimize vehicle waiting time.




- Enhance dock scheduling and vehicle turnaround efficiency.
- Reduce detention and idle vehicle costs.

Financial Planning & Cost Control

- Monitor logistics budgets against actual transportation spend.
- Identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare periodic transportation cost reports and dashboards.
- Support annual logistics budgeting and forecasting exercises.

Performance Analytics

Develop and monitor transportation KPIs, including:

- Transportation Cost per Order
- Transportation Cost per Kilogram
- Transportation Cost per Unit
- Reefer vs. Non-Reefer Cost Efficiency
- Courier & Last Mile Cost per Order
- Vehicle Utilization
- Loading & Unloading Turnaround Time (TAT)
- On-Time Pickup & Delivery Performance
- Partner SLA Compliance
- Logistics Budget vs. Actual Spend
- Transportation Cost Savings Initiatives

Leverage data and MIS reports to identify trends, recommend improvements, and drive continuous operational excellence.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 510 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or distribution operations.
- Strong understanding of First Mile, Mid Mile, and Last Mile logistics.
- Experience managing reefer and non-reefer transportation fleets.
- Proven expertise in transportation cost optimization and logistics analytics.
- Experience negotiating commercials with transporters and courier partners.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and logistics reporting tools.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced, high-volume operational environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
