Role Overview

The Legal Manager Recovery & Litigation is responsible for managing the organization's legal recovery and litigation portfolio, with a primary focus on customer default cases, asset repossession, and dispute resolution. The role develops and executes effective litigation strategies, oversees end-to-end legal proceedings across civil, criminal, and recovery matters, and ensures timely preparation and filing of legal documentation. Working closely with Collections, Operations, and external legal counsel, the incumbent drives efficient legal recoveries, mitigates legal risks, and safeguards the organization's interests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.





Key Responsibilities:

Recovery & Dispute Resolution

- Lead legal recovery proceedings involving customer defaults and asset repossession.
- Handle dispute resolution and settlement negotiations wherever feasible.
- Coordinate with Collections and Operations teams to ensure effective legal recovery.

Litigation Management

- Develop litigation strategies in consultation with internal stakeholders.
- Manage end-to-end litigation matters across civil, criminal and recovery cases
- drafting and submission of required legal notices, replies, affidavits and any other documents required by the court.
- Ensure timely filing, hearings, and case progression.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.

Experience

- 67 years of post-qualification experience in litigation for financial services (NBFC, Banks, etc).
