A Senior Chemist (QC Lab) is a professional responsible for overseeing and conducting quality control testing in a laboratory setting. They ensure that products and materials meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves a combination of analytical testing, data analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting, often with a focus on maintaining compliance and improving quality control processes. Key Responsibilities:

- Analytical Testing: Conducting a variety of chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using techniques like HPLC, GC, titrations, and other analytical methods.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyzing test results, identifying deviations from established standards, and interpreting data to assess product quality.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all testing procedures, results, and deviations, often following Valuable Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Troubleshooting: Investigating and resolving quality-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Quality Control Processes: Developing, implementing, and improving quality control procedures and protocols to ensure product consistency and compliance.




- Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as production and research and development, to address quality concerns and improve processes.
- Mentorship: May be involved in training and mentoring junior chemists or laboratory staff.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all laboratory activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field is typically required, with some roles requiring a master's degree.
- Analytical Chemistry Skills: Proficiency in various analytical techniques and instrumentation, such as HPLC, GC, and other relevant methods.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex quality-related issues.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in conducting tests, recording data, and maintaining documentation.
