Job Description:

A General Manager (GM) for a 55 MW power plant oversees all strategic and daily operations, ensuring continuous power generation, safety compliance, and cost efficiency. Key tasks include managing Plant Load Factor (PLF), supervising mechanical and electrical teams, overseeing plant maintenance, and optimizing fuel consumption. - Operations Management: Direct day-to-day operations of the 55 MW plant, including Boilers, Turbines, and Balance of Plant (BOP) to ensure uninterrupted power delivery. [1, 2]
- Maintenance & Reliability: Spearhead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. Plan annual shutdowns and lifecycle upgrades to extend asset lifespan. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Budget & Cost Control: Prepare and manage site expenditures, operational budgets, and fuel costs to ensure the cost of generation remains highly competitive. [1, 2, 3]
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols. Ensure all operations adhere to local, state, and national electrical and boiler inspectorate guidelines. [1, 2]

2. Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Post-graduate in Engineering or Business Management is a robust plus). [1]
- Experience: Typically 20+ years in power plant management, with at least 5-8 years in a senior leadership role (Plant Head / General Manager) handling capacities above 20 MW. [1, 2, 3, 4]
