Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION
n Position Title - Professor – School of Legal Studies
n Department: School of Legal Studies
n Location: REVA-University, Bengaluru Campus
n Key Responsibilities
n 1. Academic Excellence & Teaching Leadership
n n Deliver advanced teaching across Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral programmes in Law.
n Contribute to curriculum enrichment, syllabus revision, and course design in accordance with emerging legal developments, judicial trends, and BCI/UGC requirements.
n Introduce innovative pedagogical practices including case law analysis, moot simulations, clinical legal education, drafting workshops, and experiential learning modules.
n Develop academic resources, legal case repositories, teaching manuals, and student reference materials.
n Support continuous academic quality enhancement within the school.
n n 2. Research, Publications & Scholarly Contribution
n n Lead and contribute to high-quality legal research in specialized domains of law.
n Publish research papers in Scopus/UGC Care/peer-reviewed indexed journals, books, book chapters, and policy papers.
n Undertake funded research projects, legal consultancy assignments, and socio-legal studies.
n Promote interdisciplinary research collaborations with other Schools, legal institutions, and policy think tanks.
n Guide development of case studies, legal commentaries, white papers, and legislative review papers.
n n 3. Faculty Mentoring & Academic Support
n n Mentor junior faculty members in teaching effectiveness, lesson planning, classroom engagement, and academic documentation.
n Support faculty in research publication strategies, project proposal writing,
FDP participation, and academic career progression.
n Provide academic guidance in outcome-based education, accreditation preparedness, and quality assurance initiatives.
n Assist the School leadership in maintaining academic discipline and performance standards.
n n 4. Student Development & Academic Mentorship
n n Guide students in academic progression, dissertation work, legal research, publications, moot court preparation, internships, and competitive examinations.
n Encourage participation in moot courts, legal aid clinics, ADR forums, court visits, and national/international legal competitions.
n Strengthen professional ethics, legal drafting, advocacy, analytical reasoning, and employability skills among students.
n Mentor doctoral scholars and postgraduate researchers in thesis quality and publication outcomes.
n n 5. Academic Administration & Compliance Support
n n Support implementation of academic regulations, BCI norms, UGC guidelines, NAAC standards, and University quality benchmarks.
n Contribute to academic audits, departmental reports, course files, lesson plans, and statutory documentation.
n Participate in Board of Studies, Research Committees, IQAC initiatives, examination reforms, and curriculum review meetings.
n Assist in accreditation evidence preparation and departmental academic planning.
n n 6. Industry, Judiciary & Institutional Outreach
n n Develop professional linkages with judiciary members, senior advocates, law firms, corporate legal divisions, NGOs, and policy institutions.
n Organize guest lectures, legal conclaves, workshops, faculty development programmes, and continuing legal education sessions.
n Facilitate internships, chamber attachments, field exposure, and legal practitioner interactions for students.
n Contribute to institutional branding, admissions outreach, rankings, and reputation building through external engagement.
n n Qualification & Experience
n n Ph.D. in Law from a premium institution with consistently strong academic credentials.
n Minimum 15 to 20 years of teaching/research experience in higher legal education.
n Demonstrated experience in legal research supervision, publication, curriculum development, and faculty mentoring.
n Robust understanding of Bar Council of India regulations, UGC norms, NAAC standards, and legal education quality frameworks.
n Proven record of scholarly publications, conference presentations, institutional committee participation, and academic leadership contribution.
