Job Description: A Mechanical Maintenance Foreman Fitter supervises a team of trade workers and leads hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy industrial machinery. The role combines frontline shop-floor leadership with deep technical expertise in mechanical fitting, preventive maintenance, and workplace safety enforcement. Key Responsibilities

- Team Supervision: Lead, direct, and schedule daily tasks for mechanical fitters and technicians.

- Maintenance Execution: Plan and execute routine preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.

- Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex mechanical failures in pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and pneumatic or hydraulic systems.

- Precision Fitting: Oversee alignment, calibration, assembly, and testing of replacement parts using precision tools.

- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety rules, permit-to-work systems, and lockout/tagout (LOTO)



protocols.

- Resource Management: Monitor spare parts inventory, request materials, and coordinate workflow with production departments.

Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma with an ITI, vocational certificate, or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

- Experience: 5 to 10 years of hands-on fitting experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or plant environment, with prior leadership or chargehand experience.

- Core Skills: Ability to read technical drawings and schematics, robust mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with precision measuring and diagnostic instruments.
