As a Fiber Field Engineer, your main responsibility will be to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic communication systems. This may include the following tasks:
- Conducting site surveys and gathering data to design and plan fiber optic network layouts.
- Developing and implementing installation plans for fiber optic cables, including placement and splicing.
- Testing and troubleshooting fiber optic systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Performing routine maintenance on fiber optic systems, including cleaning, inspection, and replacement of damaged components.
- Responding to service calls and repairing fiber optic cables in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with other engineering teams and contractors to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Documenting all work performed and providing reports on project progress and completion.
- Maintaining a safe working setting and adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
