First class PHP Developer based in Bangalore needed to be a part of the core team of one of the UK's most trafficked Stock Market websites. Fluent English is absolutely essential - please don't apply otherwise.

We are one of the UK's most trafficked Stock Market websites serving over 100,000 unique visitors monthly. An opportunity exists to take ownership of the next and most challenging phase of our development.

We are building a set of tools to automate the generation and tracking of stock market strategies and ideas as part of a subscription feature set and looking to scale our website internationally into the US, Canada, Australia and India.

Desired Candidate Profile
* 5 years of professional programming experience
* Must have a solid understanding of the complete request to response cycle, involving HTTP, the web server, PHP and HTML/JSON.
* Deep expertise in PHP 5 (prefereably 5.3) and at least one high level language such as Java, Python or Ruby, but be able to pick up and work with a new language if required.




* Very good knowledge of OOP principles and design patterns.
* Good understanding of MySQL 5 and database optimization in general.
* Must be very fluent in plain Javascript. Knowledge of JQuery and other toolkits a plus.
* Very positive knowledge of HTML/CSS.
* Working knowledge of a DVCS, such as Git or Mercurial.
* Working knowledge of basic Linux command line utilities.

Nice to Haves
* Working knowledge of Kohana and Symfony framework
* Working knowledge of MongoDB is very desirable.
* Knowledge of Map/Reduce in general
* Proven scaling experience.
* An interest in finance and accounting theory and math related to it. Interest in the Stock Market is a positive too.

Professional Experience & Education
Ideally - the candidate should have a graduate qualification in the appropriate computer sciences and have over 5 years experience, preferably in a high traffic startup serving over 1 million unique
