Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Netezza Developer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with IBM Netezza (PureData System for Analytics), developing high-performance data pipelines, optimizing SQL queries, and working on complex ETL and data warehouse solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in Netezza architecture and a strong understanding of data modeling and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures on the Netezza platform.

Develop and maintain scalable ETL processes to support data integration and transformation.

Troubleshoot performance issues and implement tuning solutions for large datasets in Netezza.

Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver productive solutions.

Lead or contribute to the migration of workloads to/from Netezza and integration with other databases (e.g., Snowflake, Teradata, DB2, Oracle).

Maintain best practices for database design, performance, and data security.

Monitor system health, manage backups, and ensure data integrity and reliability.

Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

7+ years of experience in database development, with at least 4+ years specifically in IBM Netezza.

Strong expertise in Netezza-specific SQL, NZPLSQL, and performance tuning.

Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, Talend, or custom scripting.

Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

Proficient in Unix/Linux shell scripting.
