Job Description Manager - Finance (Controllership) - India's Largest Digital Freight Network, Mumbai
n Job Summary: India's rapid-growing logistics-technology company is looking for a Chartered Accountant for a Manager - Finance (Controllership) role with 2+ years of post-qualification experience and a strong articleship in taxation, backed by solid knowledge of income tax, GST, and Ind AS. The ideal candidate is Excel-proficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities independently under tight deadlines.
n About the company: Our client is India's largest road freight technology platform, currently processing close to 4% of the country's freight volume—with an ambitious goal of reaching 20% by 2028. Already a category leader, the company is expanding beyond its core software offering into freight marketplaces and supply chain financing, targeting $100M in revenue by 2028.
n Location: Andheri, Mumbai
n Designation: Manager - Finance (Controllership)
n Key Responsibilities:
n 1. Direct & Indirect Tax Compliance
n n Preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C).
n Handling of GST reconciliations (books vs GSTR 2A/2B/1).
n Preparation and submission of TDS returns (24Q, 26Q) and issuance of Form 16/16A.
n Handling of income tax assessments, tax computations, and payment of advance taxes.
n Liaison with tax consultants and preparation of necessary schedules and documents for tax audits and filings.
n Monitoring changes in tax laws and ensuring timely implementation of amendments.
n n 2. Month-End & Year-End Book Closure
n n Ensure timely monthly closure of books in compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS preferred).
n Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and provisions.
n Perform general ledger scrutiny and reconciliations.
n Coordinate with internal teams for accurate accounting and reporting.
n n 3. Preparation of Financial Statements




n n Assist in preparation of standalone and consolidated financials as per Ind AS/Companies Act, 2013.
n Drafting of notes to accounts and supporting audit schedules.
n Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and tax consultants.
n n 4. Budgeting & Forecasting
n n Support in preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis.
n Track actual vs. budgeted expenses and revenue; provide timely insights to management.
n Support financial planning activities and help identify areas for cost optimization.
n n 5. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
n n Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under the Companies Act, FEMA, and other applicable regulations.
n Preparation of data for ROC filings (AOC-4, MGT-7, etc.) in coordination with the company secretary.
n Support RBI compliance (FLA, FC-GPR, etc.) where applicable.
n n Requirement:
n n Knowledge of income tax, GST laws, and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
n Excellent MS Excel skills and working knowledge of accounting software (Zoho/QuickBooks/Tally).
n Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
n High attention to detail with a sense of ownership.
n Good verbal and written communication skills.
n Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under tight timelines.
n n Education: Chartered Accountant (CA)
n Experience: 2+ years of experience with strong CA article-ship experience in Taxation
n Working Days: Monday - Friday
