Description

WSP is currently initiating a search for a GIS/Data Analysis Specialist to be based out of either our Noida, Bengaluru or Manila offices. This role is within WSP's Singapore-Earth and Environment Business line.
The GIS / Data Analysis Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining GIS-enabled environmental monitoring databases and digital field data collection systems. The role will support Environmental Monitoring and Management Plans (EMMPs), Environmental Baseline Studies (EBS), construction monitoring programmes, biodiversity surveys, marine monitoring, contaminated land investigations, and environmental due diligence projects.
The successful candidate will develop ArcGIS-linked digital field forms, manage environmental monitoring databases, perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of field and laboratory datasets, undertake spatial and statistical analyses, and generate maps, dashboards, and reporting outputs to support project delivery and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

GIS Database Development and Management
1. Design, develop and maintain enterprise GIS databases, geodatabases and data models for environmental investigation and monitoring programmes, including management of spatial repositories, metadata and version-controlled datasets.
2. Integrate environmental investigation and monitoring data including water, sediment, soil, air quality, noise and vibration, ecological and biodiversity information.
3. Integrating and transforming external data sources, including extracting data from SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Power BI, and converting these datasets into GIS-ready spatial formats.
ArcGIS Mobile Data Collection Systems
1. Develop and configure ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, QuickCapture and related mobile GIS applications for onsite data collection
2. Directly link digital field data collection forms to ArcGIS databases.
3. Support field teams in deployment and use of digital monitoring systems.




Environmental Data Processing and QA/QC
1. Import and process environmental datasets from field surveys, monitoring instruments, laboratory reports and remote sensing platforms.
2. Perform verification, validation and QA/QC reviews of spatial and non-spatial environmental datasets to ensure data integrity, traceability and compliance with project requirements.
3. Manage integration of GIS information within data management systems such as SharePoint., Python, SQL, etc.
4. Develop 2D or 3D models using CAD or GIS by integrating soil, groundwater and topography data to enhance spatial visualization
Data Analysis and Reporting
1. Conduct spatial analysis and data trend assessments, including time series analysis, assessment against standards and trigger levels, hotspot and exceedance mapping.
2. Develop automated workflows for data processing and reporting.
3. Produce maps, charts, figures, dashboards and GIS outputs for technical reports and presentations.
Dashboard and Data Visualisation
4. Develop interactive dashboards using tools such as ArcGIS, Power BI, SQL, QGIS, Python, etc.
1. Create real-time or near-real-time monitoring visualisations, where required.
Project Support
1. Assist in preparing technical methodologies, GIS specifications and data management plans for proposals and projects.
2. Contribute to project planning, budgeting and scheduling associated with GIS and data management activities.
3. Support enterprise GIS data collection and management on multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Compile and refine geographic data from a variety of sources including public domain,



field collection, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
5. Communicate with project team members and other stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and desired outputs.

Qualifications

6. Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Geomatics, Data Science, Environmental Engineering or related disciplines.
7. Minimum 3-5 Years of relevant experience in GIS and data management
8. Possess proficiency in the use of GIS platforms, Data Management tools and Data Analytics tools
9. Experience in managing spatial and analytical data sets relating to environmental assessment and monitoring
10. Experience supporting international multidisciplinary projects with technical documentation, QA/QC, dashboard validation and reporting and stakeholder coordination across time zones.

21. Compliance with project QA/QC procedures.
