Your day at NTT DATA
Plans computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries. Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management. Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Note: May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Qualified Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.
What you'll be doing
The primary responsibility of the Database Administrator is to ensure the performance, integrity and security of databases and processes. Individuals in this position contribute to the design of both back-end organisation of data and front-end accessibility for end-users.
Database Administrators work closely with Change Control, Release Management, Asset and Configuration Management and Capacity and Availability Management to establish the needs of users, monitoring user access and security. They assist in controlling access to databases environments through permissions and privileges.
Key role and responsibilities:
- Assist with refining the logical design of the database to enable the translation into a specific data model
- Assist with the mapping out of the conceptual design for a planned database
- Participate in the writing of database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data diction
