n About the Job:
n Gnapi Technologies is seeking a high-impact GIS Consultant with deep expertise in ESRI Utility Network (UN) and GE Smallworld to lead and execute complex bi-directional data migrations. This role is critical for large-scale utility transformation programs involving legacy Smallworld systems and modern ESRI Utility Network architectures.
n What We Are Looking For:
n A highly motivated GIS professional with deep expertise in ESRI/Smallworld technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in complex enterprise environments
n What you'll Do:
n • Lead end-to-end GIS data migration between GE Smallworld and ESRI Utility Network
n • Analyze and map Smallworld schemas and data models to ESRI Utility Network
n • Design migration strategies for structure networks, domain networks, asset groups, asset types, and associations
n • Handle network topology, connectivity rules, containment, and association migration
n • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and post-migration quality checks
n • Support cutover, rollback, and delta migration strategies
n • Strong hands-on experience with ESRI Utility Network (UN)
n • Domain Networks, Structure Networks, Asset Groups & Asset Types
n • Network Rules, Associations, Connectivity & Containment
n • ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro
n • Strong understanding of Smallworld GIS data models
n • Experience extracting and transforming Smallworld utility data




n • Exposure to Magik-based environments
n Must Haves:
n Data Migration & ETL:
n • Large-scale utility GIS data migration experience
n • FME or FME-alternative migration approaches
n • Python / ArcPy-based migration frameworks
n • GDAL/OGR and database-driven ETL
n Databases & Automation:
n • Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server
n • Solid SQL and spatial query optimization
n • Python scripting for automation and validation
n Added Advantage:
n • Live utility network migration experience
n • Utility Network mock and production cutover handling
n • Migration without heavy dependency on FME
n Good to Have:
n • Experience working on live utility modernization or digital transformation programs
n • Hands-on exposure to Utility Network production deployments and real-time cutovers
n • Experience migrating electric, gas, water, or telecom utility networks
n • Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, services publishing, and performance tuning
n • Familiarity with Magik scripting or Smallworld customization
n • Experience reducing dependency on FME through custom Python/ArcPy frameworks
n • Understanding of versioning, branch versioning, and multi-user editing workflows
n • Cloud exposure (Azure/AWS) for GIS deployments
n • Experience working in offshore–onsite or global delivery models
n • Strong stakeholder communication and client-facing consulting experience
