Job Description: A Senior Electrician for a chains manufacturing company installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems for production machinery, ensuring safety and efficiency, troubleshooting complex faults, reading blueprints, mentoring junior staff, and managing preventive maintenance for motors, panels, generators, and PLCs, adhering strictly to safety codes. Key duties involve daily checks on panels, earthings, generators, and plant equipment, fixing lighting/switches, managing high-voltage systems (like 33kv substations), and documenting all work to minimize downtime in a manufacturing setting. Key Responsibilities:

- Installation & Maintenance: Install, test, and maintain electrical systems, motors, control panels, switchgear, transformers, and lighting.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rapidly repair complex electrical faults in production machinery to prevent downtime.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct daily and periodic inspections (panels, earthing, generators, PLCs, AC units, solar systems) and implement preventive programs.
- Supervision: Lead, train, and mentor junior electricians and technicians.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work meets electrical codes (local/national) and company safety protocols.
- Documentation:



Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Coordination: Work with other departments and management on upgrades, projects, and technical issues.

Typical Duties in a Chains Plant:
- Daily checks on transformers (oil, silica gel, voltage) and generators (diesel, battery, coolant).
- Monitoring and repair of electrical systems for chains-making machinery, engines, starters, and stabilizers.
- Managing and inspecting high-voltage (HV) substations (e.g., 33kv).
- Overseeing electrical aspects of yard equipment (forklifts, cranes).

Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Several years in electrical maintenance, ideally in manufacturing.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, PLCs, wiring, and safety protocols.
- Skills: Blueprint reading, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and hands-on repair.
- Licensing: Journeyman or Master Electrician license often required.
