About Swarnikan Swarnika Organic Farms is a boutique indigenous-breed dairy operation in Bangalore, focused on A2 milk and traditional bilona ghee. We service 50+ loyal home-delivery customers and are scaling to supply premium A2 ghee to institutional buyers. We work only with indigenous breeds (Sahiwal, Rathi) and follow ethical, ayurvedic supply-chain principles.
n We are entering a growth phase β€” expanding herd capacity to produce 200 litres of ghee per month β€” and need a disciplined, hands-on manager to own daily farm operations.
What You'll Ownn Herd Management
n n Daily health, feeding, and welfare of all cows and calves
n Maintain individual records for every animal β€” milking, breeding, health, productivity
n Coordinate vet visits, vaccinations, and deworming schedules
n Identify and isolate sick animals early; escalate appropriately
n n Breeding Discipline (Critical)
n n Twice-daily heat detection β€” every cow, every day, logged
n Coordinate AI (artificial insemination) within 12–18 hours of heat onset
n Maintain breeding calendar: AI dates, pregnancy confirmation (60–90 days), dry-off (60 days pre-calving), calving, post-calving AI window
n Target calving interval: 13–14 months per cow
n n Milk & Ghee Production
n n Supervise twice-daily milking; ensure hygiene and quality
n Track per-cow daily yield
n Oversee traditional bilona ghee-making process
n Quality control β€” consistency across batches is non-negotiable
n n Feed & Fodder
n n Manage green fodder, silage, and concentrate feed inventory
n Coordinate with suppliers; control feed cost per animal
n Tune nutrition to lactation stage (dry / milking / pre-calving)

n Coordinate home-delivery logistics for the 40 existing milk customers β€” zero disruption
n Maintain farm hygiene, equipment, and infrastructure

n Must-Haven n 3+ years hands-on experience managing a dairy farm (indigenous breeds preferred)
n Practical knowledge of heat detection, AI coordination, calving management
n Ability to read and maintain records β€” Kannada, Hindi, or English
n Willingness to live on or near the farm
n Discipline and reliability β€” this role is 80% consistency, 20% problem-solving
