Job Description:

Data Discovery Analyst (potential to develop into Data Modeller)
Bangalore

Responsibilities:
- Supporting Business Process Owners (BPO) and the Group Data Utility (GDU) to implement data governance procedures and monitor compliance
- Understand the ESG process landscape within HSBC and the sequencing of business processes and interdependencies between them
- Liaising with BPOs and Pod Leads to understand data consumed and produced by processes
- Documenting business terms on behalf of BPOs in Data Discovery Templates
- Documenting the underlying system (physical & logical) metadata associated with business terms in Data Discovery Templates
- Overseeing data governance demands through JIRA to ensure timely and satisfactory delivery of GDU services





Experience & Skills:
- Experience of data governance and other data management activities.
- Good knowledge of industry standards and regulations on data management (i.e., DCAM, BCBS 239, etc.)
- Experience in managing data governance demands and delivery of data governance services
- Problem solver with ability to find practical solutions and prevent delays
- Influencing skills, able to gain support and buy in from stakeholders
- Strong communicator with excellent oral and written skills
- Solid Microsoft Excel skills
- Proficiency with JIRA
