Job Description:

A Steel Plant Head manages all manufacturing operations, focusing on production efficiency, safety, budget control, and quality standards. They oversee DRI, blast furnaces, steel melting shops, and rolling mills to meet targets. Qualifications typically include 15-30 years of experience in engineering or technical leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Directs daily operations, maintenance, and logistics to ensure effective production.
- Production & Quality: Achieves output goals (e.g., tonnage, billet quality) and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and legal regulations.
- Financial Control: Develops and manages plant budgets, controls operating costs, and optimizes fuel and power consumption.
- Team Leadership: Manages staff, conducts performance evaluations,



and develops workforce capabilities.
- Technical Oversight: Ensures the smooth functioning of key units, including blast furnaces, induction furnaces, and rolling mills.

Required Experience and Skills
- Industry Expertise: Experience in integrated steel plants, sponge iron units, pellet plants, or rolling mills.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of steel manufacturing processes, specifically SMS (Steel Melting Shop) and DRI (Direct Reduced Iron).
- Leadership: Proven experience leading large teams and driving continuous improvement.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Management.
