Job Description:

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Tax and Use Tax Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US Sales Tax and Use Tax laws and regulations, with hands-on experience in tax research, return preparation, and compliance. Experience with Avalara software is a strong plus.

Responsibilities:
- Sales & Use Tax Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of Sales Tax and Use Tax returns for multiple clients across various jurisdictions.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Conduct periodic reviews of client tax positions and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Research and advise on complex tax issues related to sales and use tax.
- Prepare and file tax waivers and amendments to returns as needed.
- Provide support for Sales Tax and Use Tax audits, including preparation of necessary documentation and collaboration with tax authorities.
- Client Management:




- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on Sales Tax and Use Tax matters.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive service.
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Avalara Software Expertise (Valuable to have):
- Leverage Avalara software to streamline tax calculation, reporting, and compliance processes.
- Proficiently utilize Avalara features for tax determination, return filing, and reporting.
- Provide training to team members on the effective use of Avalara tools.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with a team of Sales Tax and Use Tax professionals to ensure efficient and accurate tax filings.
- Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the Sales Tax and Use Tax
