Job Description Position Summary
n The Plant Head will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operational
n performance of the manufacturing facilities of Vidya Wires Limited and ALCU Industries
n Limited. The role encompasses end-to-end responsibility for production, quality,
n maintenance, supply chain coordination, cost optimization, safety, compliance, people
n management, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure achievement of business
n objectives.
n The incumbent shall drive operational excellence by maximizing productivity, ensuring
n customer satisfaction, maintaining statutory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety,
n quality, accountability, and innovation.
n Key Responsibilities
n 1. Strategic Leadership & Business Planning
n  Develop and implement plant strategies aligned with the organization's business
n objectives.
n  Prepare annual operating plans, budgets, capacity plans, and production forecasts.
n  Drive business growth through process optimization, productivity enhancement, and
n cost reduction initiatives.
n  Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to
n achieve operational targets.
n  Support expansion projects, recent product development, and technology upgradation
n initiatives.
n 2. Production & Operations Management
n  Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations across all units.
n  Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
n  Optimize machine utilization, manpower productivity, and resource allocation.
n  Minimize downtime, rejection, rework, and process losses.
n  Ensure effective implementation of production planning and control systems.
n  Coordinate with the sales, procurement, stores, and logistics teams for seamless
n operations.
n 3. Quality Management
n  Ensure compliance with customer specifications, internal quality standards, and
n applicable industry requirements.
n  Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and customer complaints.
n  Monitor process capability and implement corrective and preventive actions.




n  Lead internal and external quality audits.
n  Ensure compliance with applicable quality management systems such as
n International Organization for Standardization standards and customer-specific
n requirements.
n 4. Maintenance & Engineering
n  Ensure preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all plant equipment
n and utilities.
n  Improve equipment reliability, availability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
n  Lead capital expenditure projects, plant modifications, and equipment installations.
n  Ensure uninterrupted availability of utilities including power, compressed air, water,
n and other critical services.
n  Drive energy conservation and asset lifecycle management initiatives.
n 5. Supply Chain & Inventory Management
n  Coordinate with procurement and stores teams to ensure timely availability of raw
n materials and consumables.
n  Optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
n  Monitor material consumption, yield, and wastage.
n  Ensure effective warehouse management and dispatch planning.
n 6. Cost Management & Profitability
n  Prepare and manage plant operating budgets.
n  Monitor manufacturing costs and implement cost-control measures.
n  Identify opportunities for waste elimination and process improvement.
n  Improve overall plant profitability through operational efficiencies.
n  Drive value engineering and lean manufacturing initiatives.
n 7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
n  Ensure strict compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
n  Promote a zero-accident culture across all manufacturing facilities.
n  Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills.




n  Ensure compliance with applicable environmental norms and pollution control
n requirements.
n  Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
n 8. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
n  Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws, factory regulations, and statutory
n requirements.
n  Liaise with government authorities, auditors, customers, and certification agencies.
n  Ensure compliance under the provisions of the applicable laws including:
n o Factories Act and applicable state factory rules
n o Environment, Health and Safety regulations
n o Industrial relations and labour laws
n o Fire and electrical safety requirements
n o Legal metrology and other industry-specific regulations
n 9. People Management & Industrial Relations
n  Lead, mentor, and develop departmental heads and plant employees.
n  Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
n  Drive employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning
n initiatives.
n  Maintain healthy industrial relations and proactively address employee grievances.
n  Coordinate with the HR department for manpower planning, training, and workforce
n development.
n 10. Continuous Improvement
n  Drive implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, and 5S
n initiatives.
n  Lead digital transformation and automation projects.
n  Benchmark plant performance against industry standards.
n  Encourage innovation and continuous improvement across functions.
