As a Data Modeler, a typical day involves engaging closely with various stakeholders including business representatives, data owners, end users, application designers, and data architects. The role focuses on understanding existing data structures and collaborating to design current data models that align with business needs and technical requirements. This position requires continuous interaction and coordination to ensure that data models are accurate, efficient, and support the organization's objectives effectively. The Data Modeler plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business goals and technical implementation through detailed data modeling activities.

Roles & Responsibilities:




-Design and develop formal ontologies, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies using OWL, RDFS, and SKOS.
- Elicit and model domain knowledge through structured interviews and workshops with subject-matter experts.
- Integrate ontologies with knowledge graph infrastructure (e.g. Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, Stardog) and validate consistency using reasoners such as HermiT or Pellet.
- Write and maintain SPARQL queries and SHACL/ShEx constraints to validate data conformance.
- Align internal models with industry standards and open standards such as schema.org, Dublin Core, or domain-specific vocabularies.
- Establish versioning, documentation, and governance practices for ontology lifecycle management.
- Support downstream AI/ML teams by providing semantically enriched data for entity resolution, recommendation, and question-answering systems.
