? Direct Procurement
- Handle purchase of raw materials & machine components
- Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs)
- Ensure materials are available as per production schedules
? Vendor Management
- Identify and develop current suppliers
- Maintain relationships with existing vendors
- Evaluate vendors based on:
- Cost
- Quality
- Delivery performance
? Sourcing roles typically involve continuous vendor development and negotiation
? Costing & Negotiation
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and contracts
- Work on cost reduction initiatives
- Compare quotations and finalize suppliers
? Material Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with:
- PPC (Production Planning)
- Stores
- Quality
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials to avoid production delays
? Documentation & ERP Handling
- Maintain procurement records, RFQs, POs
- Work on ERP systems (SAP commonly used)
- Track order status, delivery timelines, and inventory
