Responsibilities
- Operate the data center program to achieve 100% uptime and customer service level agreement (SLA) compliance.
- Ensure the facility complies with governmental regulations and policies (per the Operations Policy Manual).
- Interact with regulators and auditors, as needed.
- Manage the development, implementation and administration of operational processes, programs and systems.
- Lead the operations team offsite and on-site.
- Orient, train, evaluate and develop operating engineers.
- When necessary, recommend disciplinary actions.
- Assign personnel to various tasks, direct activities, and monitor progress to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Demonstrate effective team management and supervisory skills including planning, priority setting, conflict resolution, and managing multiple efforts concurrently.




- Provide oversight and guidance to staff for a variety of projects within the Data Center.
- Serve as in office owner’s representative for the company’s development team.
- Review drawings and interact with Compute, Storage, Backup, MW & Dbase teams.
- Ensure construction activities do not negatively affect operational activities.
- Interact and assist the business development team with items such as tours of potential clients, technical advice, and review of proposed contracts.
- Administer the data center energy conservation program.
- Identify projects that add value and save money and procure funds.
- Produce reports, including Energy Star and internal company reports.
- Conduct capacity planning for the data center.
- Oversee the data center master plan and modify as appropriate to adjust for changing circumstances.
