We are looking for a motivated Assistant Fitter to support the maintenance team in ensuring the smooth operation of Picanol 340 Airjet weaving machines. The ideal candidate will assist with preventive maintenance, machine repairs, and breakdown support while learning advanced weaving machine maintenance techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Shift Fitters in attending machine breakdowns and maintenance activities.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance of Picanol 340 Airjet looms.
Clean, inspect, lubricate, and replace machine components as directed.
Assist in changing reeds, heald frames, nozzles, belts, bearings, and other machine parts.
Help with machine alignment, timing checks, and routine inspections.
Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain 5S standards in the maintenance area.
Maintain tools and equipment in valuable working condition.
Record maintenance activities and report machine issues to the Shift Fitter.
Follow all safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
Assist during machine installation, overhauls, and shutdown maintenance.
Qualifications
ITI Fitter, ITI Mechanic Textile Machinery, or equivalent.
1–4 years of experience in textile weaving maintenance is preferred.
Skills
Basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance.
Willingness to learn Picanol Airjet loom maintenance.
Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.
Valuable teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work in rotational shifts.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to Airjet weaving machines in a textile mill.
Basic understanding of preventive maintenance and machine safety.
