Role Description The Architectural Intern role at A plus R Architects is a structured internship based on-site in Chennai. The intern will support the design team with conceptual and schematic design, preparation of drawings, and development of presentation materials. Daily tasks may include assisting with 2D and 3D documentation, coordinating design details, and helping integrate design concepts with practical constraints such as codes and construction methods.

The intern will participate in internal reviews, communicate design ideas clearly,



and collaborate with architects and project stakeholders. This role offers hands-on experience in a practice that combines research-driven design with implementation, providing a foundation for professional growth in architecture.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to translate concepts into clear drawings and models.

Communication skills to present ideas, collaborate with teams, and engage with project stakeholders effectively.

Understanding of Solution Architecture and Integration, including how design decisions relate to systems, structures, and building performance.

Proficiency in relevant design and documentation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar), and basic knowledge of building codes and standards.

Enrollment in or completion of a degree program in Architecture or a closely related field.

Ability to work in office in Chennai, manage time effectively, and adapt to a research-oriented, innovation-focused studio workplace.

Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and interest in exploring current technologies and methodologies in architectural practice.
