Role & responsibilities
Plan and execute daily production activities on YLM CNC Pipe Bending Machines to achieve shift production targets.
Ensure optimum utilization of YLM bending machines, manpower, and resources during the shift.
Perform machine setup, tooling changeover, and first-off approval for new production runs.
Monitor machine parameters and ensure production as per engineering drawings and quality standards.
Achieve production targets while maintaining OEE, productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
Troubleshoot minor machine and process issues and coordinate with the Maintenance team for major breakdowns.
Ensure adherence to SOPs, Control Plans, and IATF 16949 requirements.
Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores for smooth production flow.
Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap, and implement corrective actions using root cause analysis.
Drive TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives on the shop floor.
Ensure proper material handling, WIP control, and line balancing throughout the shift.
Train operators on machine operation, safety, quality standards, and best practices.
Maintain shift-wise production reports, downtime records, and machine performance data.
Ensure strict compliance with EHS guidelines and safe working practices.
Support current product trials, process validation, and continuous process improvements.
Preferred candidate profile
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Automobile Engineering.
36 years of experience operating or supervising YLM CNC Pipe Bending Machines in an automotive manufacturing setting.
Hands-on experience in machine setup, tooling selection, program setting, and changeover on YLM bending machines.
Strong knowledge of tube bending processes, bend radius, spring-back correction, and bend quality control.
Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T;, and tube bending specifications.
Experience in troubleshooting bending defects such as wrinkling, flattening, cracks, and dimensional deviations.
Knowledge of OEE, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and IATF 16949.
Good leadership skills with experience in managing shop floor operators in rotational shifts.
Solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience in an automotive sheet metal and tubular components manufacturing plant will be preferred.
