Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Communication Test Engineer with strong expertise in IEC 61850 communication protocols and Substation Automation Systems (SAS) . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in communication protocol testing, Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), and power system communication to ensure reliable interoperability across substation equipment.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute communication protocol test plans for IEC 61850-based systems.
Validate and troubleshoot communication interfaces in substation automation environments.
Test and analyze MMS, GOOSE, and Sampled Values (SV) messaging.
Configure and validate communication between Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs).
Verify communication between protection relays, bay controllers, RTUs, and SCADA systems.
Perform interoperability testing across multi-vendor substation devices.
Analyze communication logs, identify protocol issues, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
Conduct network and protocol troubleshooting using communication analyzers and testing tools.
Prepare test reports,



defect analysis, and technical documentation.

Required Skills
5+ years of experience in communication protocol testing.
Robust hands-on experience with IEC 61850 .
Positive understanding of Substation Automation Systems (SAS) .
Experience with MMS, GOOSE, and Sampled Values (SV) .
Hands-on experience configuring and testing Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) .
Knowledge of Protection Relays, SCADA, RTUs, and Bay Controllers .
Experience with protocol analyzers, communication testing tools, and network troubleshooting.
Robust analytical and debugging skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
Experience with multi-vendor substation communication environments.
Exposure to power transmission, distribution, or utility automation projects.

Mandatory Requirements
Immediate to 15-day notice period (must already be serving notice).
Willing to work from the Noida office .
Current or expected compensation within the specified budget.
Relevant hands-on experience in IEC 61850 communication testing is mandatory.
