We are seeking a detail-oriented Copy Editor to edit and refine scholarly manuscripts submitted to journals. The candidate will ensure clarity, and strict adherence to journal style guidelines while supporting timely publication workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Edit journal manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and clarity.
Ensure compliance with journal-specific and publisher style guides (APA, MLA, Chicago, AMA, etc.).
Standardize references, citations, headings, tables, and figures.
Check consistency in terminology, data presentation, and formatting.
Raise author queries for ambiguous or incomplete content.
Use MS Word (Track Changes) and PDF annotation tools.
Coordinate with authors, peer review teams, and production staff.
Required Skills:
Solid command of English language and academic writing standards.
Experience in scholarly journal editing or STM publishing preferred.
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
