Job Title: Consultant – Geriatric Medicine

Location: Mumbai

Job Summary The Consultant – Geriatric Medicine is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to elderly patients by diagnosing, treating, and managing age-related acute and chronic health conditions. The role focuses on improving quality of life through multidisciplinary, patient-centered care while ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses in geriatric patients.
Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments, including physical, cognitive, functional, and psychosocial evaluations.
Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans for elderly patients.
Manage age-related conditions such as dementia, osteoporosis, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and frailty.
Coordinate care with specialists, physiotherapists, dietitians, nurses, and other healthcare specialists.
Provide inpatient, outpatient (OPD), and emergency medical care as required.




Educate patients and caregivers on disease management, medication adherence, nutrition, and healthy aging.
Ensure accurate clinical documentation and maintain electronic medical records.
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital protocols, and patient safety guidelines.
Participate in CMEs, clinical research, and continuous medical education programs.
Perform on-call duties and emergency coverage as per hospital roster.

Qualifications
MBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine
DM/Fellowship/Certificate in Geriatric Medicine (Preferred)
Valid NMC/State Medical Council Registration

Experience
2–8 years of experience in General Medicine or Geriatric Medicine in a multispecialty hospital.
Experience in managing elderly patients with multiple comorbidities is preferred.
