Role Description The Counselor will provide direct counseling support to patients and their families, including individual, group, and family sessions focused on treatment adherence, recovery, and overall wellbeing. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing psychosocial needs, developing and implementing care plans, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating closely with medical, nursing, and administrative teams.

The Counselor will participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, contribute to patient education programs, and support crisis intervention when needed. This is a full-time,



in office role based at T.T.K Hospital in Chennai, requiring consistent presence and active participation within the hospital setting.

Qualifications
Strong counseling and psychosocial assessment skills, with the ability to conduct individual, group, and family sessions.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, ward staff, and administrative personnel.
Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered and empathetic approach.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation, case notes, and treatment plans, with attention to confidentiality and ethical standards.
Relevant degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field; additional counseling certifications are an advantage.
Experience in hospital, clinical, or rehabilitation settings is preferred, especially in working with diverse patient populations.
Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple cases, and work in a structured, rapid-paced clinical setting.
Fluency in English and local languages (such as Tamil) is highly beneficial for effective patient engagement.
