About the Role

We're looking for an Engineering Manager who is, first and foremost, a solid individual contributor who happens to lead a player-coach who still writes and reviews production code, sets the technical bar, and owns outcomes end to end. You'll lead a team of 810 engineers building and scaling distributed systems, while staying close enough to the code to unblock, mentor, and raise the quality of everything the team ships. This is a 0-to-1 builder role.

10+ years of software engineering experience

Resilience engineering
Experience managing a team of ~810 engineers
Hands-on use of AI code-generation tools (e.g., Claude Code or equivalent agentic/coding assistants), with solid adherence to TDD and high-quality system design.

Primary Backend:



Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript
Core Java (solid plus): Java (8+), Spring Boot, Spring framework (Spring MVC, Spring Data), REST API design, JPA/Hibernate, JVM fundamentals, multithreading & concurrency, and build tooling (Maven / Gradle)
Frontend: React, CSS
Messaging / Streaming: Apache Kafka, synchronous & asynchronous communication patterns
Databases & Caching: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, distributed caching
Architecture: Microservices, distributed architecture, fault-tolerant & resilient system design, high-throughput / high-scale systems
Quality & Operations: Test-Driven Development (TDD), observability, instrumentation, profiling
Practices: AI-native development workflows and agentic coding tools
