Project Overview
Goal:
Evaluate photoplethysmography (PPG) for cuffless blood pressure (BP) tracking.
Target:
Early preeclampsia risk detection in pregnant women.
Current Focus:
Sensor stability, clean signal acquisition, and edge-case testing in healthy adults.
Key Responsibilities
Firmware Development:
Program microcontrollers to stream high-frequency raw PPG and 3-axis accelerometer data.
Data Jitter Control:
Ensure highly reliable sampling rates and eliminate packet transmission lag.
Time Synchronization:
Align raw sensor signals with timestamped reference cuff blood pressure readings.
Signal Quality Testing:
Collect pilot data under physical edge cases (e.g., motion, induced vasoconstriction).
Storage Formats:
Structure and log collected biosignals into clean binary, HDF5, or Parquet files.
Required Skills
Core Tech:
Embedded C/C++, Microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, ESP32, or similar).
Communication:
SPI, I2C, UART, and high-speed USB/Serial communication.
Data Parsing:
Python (for logging, synchronization scripts, and data serialization).
Sensor Integration:
Experience interfacing with optical biosensors (PPG) and inertial units (IMU).
Instrumentation:
Familiarity using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and basic hardware debugging tools.
