Role & responsibilities
End-to-end search. Intake with the founder or hiring manager, market mapping, sourcing, screening, pipeline management, offer negotiation, close. No handoffs to hide behind.
The client relationship. Once a founder signs, you're the person they call. You run the kickoff, set expectations on timeline and market reality, deliver weekly updates, handle escalations, and decide when a search needs re-scoping or pausing. Repeat business and referrals come out of accounts kept healthy, not out of recent logos. [Handoff point: the founder leads business development through contract signature; the account is yours from kickoff onward confirm and state plainly.]
How the firm runs. You define the search process, intake templates and scorecards, SLAs, and what "positive" looks like at each stage.
Tooling. Current stack is LinkedIn Recruiter Lite, Naukri Resdex, Juicebox/PeopleGPT, Apollo.io, and Zoho Recruit. You decide what stays, what gets replaced, and how the ATS is actually configured.
Candidate experience. Response times,
feedback loops, how candidates are treated when they don't get the role. Repeat business at this end of the market is won or lost here.
Delivery quality as we grow. You'll help hire and ramp the sourcer who follows you.
Preferred candidate profile
6+ years in agency, embedded, or in-house recruiting, with meaningful time in tech or AI hiring
Demonstrable closes on hard technical roles you can walk through a specific search: the map, the outreach, why the candidate said yes
Can hold a difficult conversation with a paying client: the role isn't hireable at that band, the interview loop is losing candidates, the offer is two weeks too slow
Comfortable with founders and engineering leaders as a peer
Builds systems rather than working from memory
Wants ownership over stability, and is transparent-eyed about what joining an early-stage firm means
