Role & responsibilities
Build and ship features in the District Android app across ticketing, events, dining and payments
Write clean, readable Kotlin/Java that your teammates can maintain and build on
Translate designs and product requirements into smooth, responsive UI following Material Design
Integrate REST APIs and handle data with Retrofit/OkHttp, JSON parsing and local storage (Room)
Handle real-world scale and edge cases loading states, errors, offline behaviour, and the high-traffic moments when a big event or ticket drop goes live
Debug, profile and fix issues; keep the app fast, reliable and crash-free
Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback
Work closely with product, design and backend to scope and deliver features end to end
Chip away at tech debt and push for clean architecture and best practices
Stay current with Android updates, tools and patterns, and bring good ideas back to the team

Preferred candidate profile
02 years of experience in Android application development, including at least 6 months of hands-on internship or full-time experience.




Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, with solid knowledge of the Android SDK and Android application lifecycle.
Experience building two or more Android applications, with at least one application published on the Google Play Store preferred.
Hands-on experience with modern Android development tools and libraries, including:
Retrofit/OkHttp
RxJava or Kotlin Coroutines
Gson
Jetpack Architecture Components (ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, etc.)
Room Database
Strong understanding of the MVVM architecture pattern, clean coding practices, and version control using Git.
Valuable understanding of Material Design principles, mobile UI/UX best practices, responsive layouts, and performance optimization.
Experience working in or interning with a strong B2C product company is mandatory.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly learn current technologies and work in a cooperative Agile environment.
