Key Responsibilities & Duties

Floor

Operations & Guest Service

​Welcomes guests warmheartedly using appropriate salutations and escorts them to tables. ​Presents menus, explains daily specials, and provides detailed descriptions of food, beverages, and allergen information. ​Takes accurate orders using POS/MICROS systems or handheld terminals and communicates special requests directly to kitchen and bar staff. ​Oversees table service (Mise-en-place, course timing, clearing plates, and beverage top-ups) to maintain high service pace and flow. ​Handles table billing, processes cash/card/room charges accurately, and manages guest sign-offs.

​2. Leadership & Mentorship

​Assists Captains and Supervisors in delegating table sections to junior GSAs and trainees.

​Guides junior staff on proper tray carrying, beverage pouring, table etiquette, and menu knowledge. ​Leads by example regarding qualified grooming, punctuality, and brand standards.

Revenue

Generation & Upselling

​Actively practices suggestive selling and upselling of signature dishes, side pairings, premium spirits, or desserts.

​Stays fully informed on beverage lists,



wine/spirits pairings, and local chef recommendations.

​4. Hygiene, Safety & Maintenance

​Ensures strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and local health guidelines across all guest and service station areas. ​Inspects section cleanliness, side stations, and tableware condition before shift rollout. ​Coordinates side-work duties (polishing cutlery/glassware, napkin folding, restocking linen).

Guest

Relations & Issue Resolution

​Handles minor guest complaints, service delays, or order discrepancies calmly and professionally before escalating to management.

​Collects guest feedback actively to help continuously elevate team operations. ​Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

​Guest Satisfaction Score: Positive mentions in guest surveys/online reviews.

​Upselling Performance: Meeting monthly targets for beverage and specialty dish recommendations.

​Accuracy: Error-free billing and accurate order transmission to the kitchen.

​Attendance & Punctuality: Adherence to shift schedules and dress code standards.
